Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) where you’ll be warmly greeted by an Wild Trackers, representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Your lodge provides all the comforts: cozy rooms, hot water, internet, swimming pool, and tranquil surroundings.
In the evening, a detailed pre-climb briefing will be held with your head mountain guide, covering route details, gear checks, health checks, and essential preparations before the adventure begins.
Begin your Kilimanjaro climb after a 2-hour scenic drive through rural Tanzania to Nale Moru village, where park formalities and porter preparations are completed. Start your trek through maize and potato fields before entering enchanting pine forests teeming with wildlife.
Gradually ascend into the moorland zone with breathtaking views over the Kenyan plains as you reach Simba Camp.
Elevation: 2,000m – 2,650m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Trek steadily through open moorland, with epic views of Kibo Peak and the Eastern Icefields looming ahead. Arrive at Second Cave Camp, where you can relax and absorb the alpine beauty.

Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Today’s hike is shorter but more adventurous as you follow a smaller trail across the wild moorland toward Mawenzi’s jagged peaks. Arrive at the secluded Kikelewa Camp, set in a beautiful sheltered valley with towering Giant Senecio trees.
Elevation: 3,450m – 3,600m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Ascend steep grassy slopes to reach the dramatic Mawenzi Tarn, nestled beneath the vertical cliffs of Mawenzi. This location offers one of the most awe-inspiring campsites on the mountain.
Take the afternoon to rest or explore nearby ridges for acclimatization.
Elevation: 3,600m – 4,330m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Cross the stark Saddle desert between Mawenzi and Kibo, a high-altitude wilderness of volcanic ash. Reach Kibo Hut, located at the base of the final summit ascent.
Spend the rest of the day resting and hydrating in preparation for the night climb to Uhuru Peak.
Elevation: 4,330m – 4,700m
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Summit Day! Begin your climb around midnight with headlamps, conquering steep switchbacks and scree slopes up to Gilman’s Point (5,685m) at sunrise. Continue along the crater rim to reach the summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa!
Take in the unforgettable panoramic views before descending to Kibo Hut for rest and then further down to Horombo Hut.
Elevation: 4,700m – 5,895m – 3,720m
Hiking Time: 12–14 hours
Make your way through the moorland and lush rainforest to reach Mandara Hut and finally the Marangu Gate, where you'll sign out and celebrate your achievement.
A vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in Moshi. A hot shower and a celebratory dinner await!

Enjoy a well-deserved rest at your hotel. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. If you have a late flight, you may request an extended stay (extra cost applies). You will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward journey.
